The website

On the website the EPT, Every Page Technology, is made in PHP. Why PHP? We choose for PHP since it's free, supported by most webhosts (including ours) and is very easy in use. The website is supported by a database. This allows to save information better and give more dynamic content.

Tom de Bruijn made the first version of the website, not counting interruptions, in about 3 to 4 months. Now the latest version of EPT, EPT 4 is build in about two months.

Optimizing the Website

Most people who 'surf' the Internet use Internet Explorer from Microsoft. But there are alternatives. For example we use the Opera Webbrowser because it's fast, easy in use and reads the HTML and scripts of the websites correctly, something in which Internet Explorer sometimes fails. Internet Explorer 8 is finally a step in the right direction for Internet Explorer, but it still handles code different than other browsers.

The website of Newanz is optimized for Opera, Firefox and WebKit based browsers (Google Chrome and Apple's Safari). We try to pay attention to Internet Explorer, but any version lower than version 7 is not supported. So if you are having trouble reading this website or others properly switch today to the other FREE alternatives.

The forums

The forums are, since EPT 4, integrated into the website itself. Before that the forums were stand-alone. They were in a different layout not totally different from the website. We used the Simple Machines Forum.

But we now have our own system. It easier to customize and we don't have to make a different layout just to fit that particular system.

Photoshop

A lot of people can not affort expensive photoshop packages and I am one of them. Luckily there are free package for people who still want to photoshop. The GIMP is one of them, try it, you might like it.
