Progress over 2 weeksProgress over 2 weeksJul 08th, 2008 at 12:00:00
So we are back, not with any releases of somekind.
We have been working very long on EPT 4, that's the reason of the lack of any site updates for now.
It's probably better to wait with it untill the release of EPT 4.
We hope to release it soon, and this week we like to start first tests with RC2 of NewsOffice
That's all for now.

Newanz Staff EPT3.1 Cancelled!EPT3.1 Cancelled!Jun 24th, 2008 at 12:00:00
We have some good, and some bad news.
It's not something to critical, but it's about this website.
The bad
We have decided to drop EPT3.1, as we realised it became more and more of a layout change then a real difference to the site; bringing new features/stability/speed.
So we are dropping it.
The good
Yes we also got that. EPT 4 is currently beeing build
Might sound weird, maybe not, but we are going to re-write the entire website. Featuring: database support.
The site is growing to large to keep it file based, we are switching to database based. Hopefully beeing faster and more stable, our trafic trackers are very confused to the current way of EPT3.
We have build a good database on paper and are now building it into EPT4. When will it be done? Well, rather you don't know it untill we are almost done (read previous message).

Newanz Staff What makes an application a good one? What makes an application a good one?Jun 21st, 2008 at 12:00:00
Something I like to remind us here at Newanz about is: To make a good application it takes time.
You can't expect such a small team to build such an application in such a short amount time as we sometimes set ourselfs to. This is good reason why we never actually give the public our release dates, well planned release dates that is, as we never make them the first time around. Visitors won't go mad about us delaying a release again and again and again...
So what I am trying to say here, NewsOffice 1.2 is not done! Far from it actually, although we are working on the second release candidate, this is more due the fact we agreed to loose somethings for this release. We have ourselfs a nice large list of points we need to build or rewrite and half of it, planned for RC2, is done. It is more of a maintenance release that it will bring new features.
So anything you can give away?
Yes, I really like us to release this RC very soon, but again, it takes time.
