Nyes content and securingNyes content and securingApr 29th, 2010 at 01:37:21
Oh hi! It's been a while since I updated the front page. What the hell have I been doing?
As guessed by the title: Security. Securing Nyes that is!
I've also been building objects (things you use to put content on a page). These are done:
- Blog
- WYSIWYG/WYSIWYM content
- Basic HTML
- Simple image gallery (no JavaScript; the idea is to let the user decide if they want that on their own)
- Navigation tree
- Form (only shows 5 latest results)
While building this I came across a new idea. Now every editor is opened in a dialog, which isn't really user friendly (well more than some CMSes though), but I'm thinking of a "one-click-open-editor" system. Will mean I need to rewrite some complex JavaScript, again.. *sigh*
Anyway, what I want to make now is the forum. Unfortunately that will require some time since I have no idea how to start, I can't exactly copy the current website's forum: too outdated. So building from scratch... Again. I want to make it highly Dynamic, just like the blog object.

Tom de BruijnUpdates + NewsOffice popularityUpdates + NewsOffice popularityApr 13th, 2010 at 09:47:11
What I can tell from the download statistics is that NewsOffice is downloaded quite often. A release normally is downloaded for a two month period (even when a new version is out; strange). The most popular release this year is 2.0.15 Beta still, with close behind 2.0.17 Beta with 40 less downloads. Although I'm happy with the usage thus far of NewsOffice I can't wait to build a new type of blog/news software for Nyes
There we are again: Nyes. Now what? Usermanager is done and while I was at it I rebuild the file manager... Again you ask? Yes! Again! This so the usermanager and filemanager use the same flexible structure of loading content.
Now I need to look at what else I can do. The package manager is a good start or even the theme manager, but first I'm going to see if I can make something a little better of a design to look at while making Nyes.

So what have I been working on lately?
Well, this website: IMTOP.nl (Dutch website; you can't login.)
It's a Ingram Micro project I was hired for to remake. Implement another layout (made by someone else) and make a better communication line to the shop part by Sparco.
Payed for by Microsoft its purpose is to make it able for customers to spend points, which they have received over time over at Ingram Micro, for various other goods. So yeah, it is a loyalty program.
It's been a rocky road, but finally I can say it's more or less done. It should be; it's live now.
One more thing to complete over at Ingram Micro. Looking forward to it!
