Last minute trouble

Last minute trouble

Nov 25th, 2008 at 14:00:02

Yes the weekend is over and NewsOffice was not released. But I was just about to release NewsOffice when I ran into some trouble.

While doing the final testing, I noticed that when I register an account and then reset my password every other account is deleted. I don't want that! I also noticed the reset password page was no where to be found, but I thought it was done <_< .

Further more I have choosen not to implement the new NewsOffice website. For search engines and the fact that I am no longer building EPT 4. (The current page is actually build with EPT3)

After all of this our attention will go to EPT 5 and nothing else. Who knows when NewsOffice will come out of the Beta version.

One more thing, I just got 3 emails today of people in trouble with NewsOffice 1.2 RC1. They send they emails like 2 weeks ago. Looks to be like our email server is a little slow.

Thank you for reading,

NewsOffice is as done as it can be. But how to release it? Probably the site will not be complete by the time it is released.
And as we fully see the limitations of EPT 4, why bother?

EPT 5 is build with the eye for the future, more stuff in the database and close to none in the PHP scripting. So hopefully we will never have to dive in the code again. That is untill we make a sub site, which needs a new theme.
EPT 5 now is 40 tables, nice round number hopefully not to be expanded.

When will you release NewsOffice then?
This weekend we hope, but no screenshots, no manuals, no feature list, really basic stuff actually.

Thank you for reading,

NewsOffice

NewsOffice is almost done. I just need to update the website to the new version.
I have to say: it's not done, the website and NewsOffice.

Manuals, documentation it's all not done, but I decided to release it without them. Manuals will only be inside the application itself and maybe added later on to the website itself. But I took this liberty all in the name of a Beta version.

EPT 5

Yeah I can surely say it's coming, Flamer was right, but unfortunatly a whole lot sooner than I hoped. The database we are using now is becoming a bit full...

So we are going to re-write it on top of the new database I am building right now, some hick-ups there.

More on the release of NewsOffice and EPT 5.

A blog post has been made, to follow updates on EPT 5 go to this topic.
