Language

Language

Other than speeding up the sitemap (by rewriting it entirely (again)) I have also made some changes today for future multi language support. Not sure if it will be usable in the first release, but at least I will be able to save multi language data.
The forum (and blog object which are very similiar right now) have also been modified for multi language support, but just like everything else the interface remains English for now. More security and submissions through AJAX make them a couple of the most complete parts of Nyes right now. (sticky/important topics are supported + open/close topics)

I also noticed I went a little easy with the MVC concept and should move some code to models, but I'm not entirely sure when I'll do this. I mean... It's only for content objects.

Every now and then my to-do list gets smaller and I think to myself: "I might be able to transfer Newanz soon." which is definitely a good thing. I'm just scared I'm missing something very important.

Nyes forum

Nyes forum

This week is a holiday week for me so I had some time free. The forums in Nyes are almost done. What features are done could be compared to the Newanz forums (on this website), but then better. Things like sticky/important topics have yet to be implemented just like topic moving, but I don't see problems there. Like I said before: it's very AJAX oriented.

So what's after that? Well I came up with some new content objects, but they can wait. I think I'll revisit some work and improve it, such as the Database layer and XML helper. Then email implementation.

Then what? Then I think I'm almost done! However, before any release I'll build the Newanz website in Nyes and find out the bugs I've not yet found.

That's it for this week, Thank you for reading,

Tom de Bruijn
