This week: NewsOffice 2.0.7 Beta

This week: NewsOffice 2.0.7 Beta

Apr 20th, 2009 at 11:27:31

Weekend is over, no NewsOffice release.
But! This week it will happen!

Monday, not probably.
Tuesday, more likely.
Wednesday, very likely.

Yesterday late I had the updater done, but not fully tested. "What if the config.php file could not be converted?"
That one and other tests still need to be completed. Updates for other older versions than 2.0.6 Beta need to be completed as well.

So be back Wednesday!

Release plans for NewsOffice

Release plans for NewsOffice

Things will be a little different this time when releasing NewsOffice 2.0.7 Beta.
...
It won't be completely finished and you should only update when you are not using the backup and import functions. Those two things will not be included/working.

I'm still not sure if it's a smart idea to allow backups from before 2.0.7 Beta. I mean if you make a backup in your current version, update, and make a new backup in the next version (2.0.7+) everything works fine. If the update doesn't work for you, you can just reinstall a earlier version and import your backup.

Back on subject. I will release it somewhere soon, I am hoping this weekend. Still need to update the updater engine, make an updater script (which is larger than usual) and run some tests just in case.

Also: I think this is better and gives me more room to think about new features that I wanted to put in this version, but now will be in a higher version.

I hope you won't be bothered by this decision.

.Nzr beta 2 converter done

.Nzr beta 2 converter done

Apr 12th, 2009 at 16:22:13

Great weekend (not), but I finnished the converter for .Nzr Beta 1 to Beta 2.
A lot of features that I hadn't planned yet for Beta 2 are specially made for the converter as it needed this features (add columns, set primary key, set comments, etc.)

Anyway, the .Nzr project file is also updated, so you can read a little more about it.

Now back to work....
