Disliking a monster object

Disliking a monster object

Nov 01st, 2009 at 21:03:00

This is a bit like stating the obvious, but I dislike (which is an understatement) Internet Explorer 8. (Also every version before 7 though) Yeah! Another rand on the horrible CSS interpretation and lousy speed. No. Not really. Although it doesn't make developing NWC any easier. That's why I can say right of the bat: NWC != (is not) Internet Explorer friendly. Still those are issues someone seriously needs fired for.

Back on track: Lately I've been required to use Internet Explorer (for school, school and school) I have undergone the full wrath of Internet Explorer from the "user perspective". Horrible "new tab" opening times, annoying "form input tab sequences" and my favorite: "Not loading at all". Seriously. It can take me 8 new processes for Internet Explorer to actually load my "homepage". Huh? How did that happen? It's something native to my PC obviously, because my netbook doesn't suffer from that problem, but it's still really annoying on my PC.

Thank you for reading my rant and not actual (well a little) news about Newanz,

Tom de Bruijn

One more year Newanz (at least)

One more year Newanz (at least)

Newanz is going to stick around on the Internet for another year. I just made payment for another year of website hosting and the Newanz.com domain. Now this year will probably not be the last one. There is some place I will have to continue some kind of website/webapplication work, right?

Since Newanz, and Uturn-zone.nl (which is still online, I'm just not paying), I have always made the website free for visitors meaning I have to pay everything. Probably my own fault for not making a donation option right? Well no, that I pay everything, keep the website free and without advertisements is fine by me Smile So far the "Website money jar" is still full for the next couple of years.

Thank you for reading,

Tom de Bruijn
