Description
Developing a DEMO online insurance system for AXA.

Content

Bankweb

AXA Insurance is a large company that provides insurances for travelling, cars, and many many more. The company is French from origin, but is located all over the world now.

Small description

What does Newanz has to do with this? Well Tom de Bruijn has done an internship with an AXA company in the Netherlands and got there thanks to his father who was CIO (Chief Information Officer) there. The dutch AXA company was eventually sold, but his father stayed with AXA and now works in another AXA company located in Singapore.

The application

There is a need for new systems in the Asian region. The ability to purchase an insurance online through a website was one of them. The application will first let you choose between an insurance type, then you have to enter some information about the insurance, your personal particulars and eventually pay.

Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/31/preview.gif

When it was a new customer a My AXA account will be created and the login details send to the customer. Then you would be able to login and keep track of your policy's and make a claim when you have something to claim about an insurance you bought with AXA. Further more you would be able to change your personal particulars, purchase new policy's (without having to fill in your personal particulars again),read messages about policy's, claims or news.

The extra feature was the ability to add discount vouchers, this would give you a #% discount whenever you have received an discount voucher number.

The trip

Now Tom de Bruijn knew something about the project he flew to Singapore and stayed there for two and a half week to make a DEMO website for this. Showing a IT student can create this very fast, pushing the big bosses to do something to actually make this a reality.

I had a nice holiday in which I worked and learned a lot. Certainly something I would do again! - Tom de Bruijn
This application made in this project is NEVER going to be released outside AXA Insurance or Newanz Development.
