Content

Note: This tutorial is originally from Uturn-Zone.nl, which is the previous location of this website. This means Uturn-Zone.nl example's will be used.
Welcome to my thirth tutorial.
In this tutorial I will teach you how to make a spookey looking text.
It's not a very long tutorial so if you want to make something quick, just follow this tutorial.

Final Result at the end of this tutorial will be: Click Here

Looks nice? Great so we can continue making it.

1. Let's begin with making a new PSD file (Ctrl+N) and make it with a width of 150pixels and height of 150pixels . You may always change it to fit your own needs. Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/1.png

2. Now fill the "layer1 " with black. No need to change the name this time.
3. Now grab the "Horizontal Type Tool " Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/2.png and make a selection with in in the center where the text will go.

4. Type your text in a white color. I used the font aerial which is avaliable here.
Now you will have something like this:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/3.png

5. Now duplicate the text layer. So you will have 2 the same text layers.
So we can make nice effects on 1 layer.
6. Right click on the lower one and click on Ratersize Type . This will make it possible to add effects on a text layer.
7. Now select the layer you just ratersized and go to Filter -> Stylize -> Wind .
Add the following settings:

8. Now go to Filter -> Stylize -> Wind again and add these settings:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/5.png
Now you will have something like this: Click Here

9. Now to make a wind effect on the top and bottom of the text we first need to rotate the image, so go to: Edit -> Transform -> Rotate 90 degrees CW .
10. Now add do step 7 and 8 again, but skip step 9 and continue to step 11 .

11. Now to return the image in the right position go to: Edit -> Transform -> Rotate 90 degrees CCW
12. The rusult now will be: Click Here.
13. Now we will continue with colors. Right click on the layer we just worked on (so with the wind effect)
and go to Blending Options and add this setting:
Color Overlay:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/8.png
I used this color: #49b0ff

14. Now right click on the layer we haven't really touched, If you didn't gave it an unique name it will be:
"your text" copy
, and go to Blending Options .
15. Add these settings:
Bevel and Emboss:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/9.png
Satin:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/10.png
Color Overlay:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/8.png
Stroke:
Image from: http://newanz.com/data/images/content/items/3/12.png

Finished!

And now you're done!
You will have something like this:
